From Executive Producer Tariq Bey comes an in-depth look at the history, present, and future of black-owned business in America. We will profile the biggest players in the black business community from big names like Bob Johnson of BET and Byron Allen of Entertainment Studios to lesser known but equally significant figures like Solomon Ali of Revolutionary Concepts Inc. We will look at each entrepreneur, how they built their businesses from the ground up, the challenges they weathered to get there, and the challenges they are still facing.

Our goal is for Americans to realize that black businesses are under attack. Whether it’s large companies refusing to work with black-owned businesses, burdensome regulations enforced selectively on black-owned businesses, barriers to raising capital due to good ‘ol boy networks and discrimination from banks, the residual impacts of redlining, or just straight up racist attacks by government agencies---life is constantly challenging for black business owners and entrepreneurs. It is through overcoming these challenges that black business leaders have built some of the greatest companies in America and we can’t wait to tell that story.
